Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: Action on this agenda item will not obligate the County to any costs; obligation would occur upon award of the construction project by the DOT. However, approval of this item will authorize the DOT to move the project to completion. The project will be paid 95% by the FAA grant with the 5% matching funds coming from the Georgetown Airport Enterprise Fund. There is no net cost to the County General Fund associated with this agenda item.

Background:
The Georgetown Airport has a large open hole along the west side of runway 16-34 which needs to be filled to eliminate a hazardous condition. The grant will allow the remediation work by clearing and removing the brush and filling the open hole, which is estimated to be 7,000 cubic yards.

The Grant Application was submitted in the amount of $155,500. The current estimated construction cost is $123,500 and engineering is $32,000. The construction cost amount will allow DOT to accept the grant and use the informal bid process for this project. FAA will fund 95% or $147,725 of the estimated costs.
