Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: No change. The Agreement is funded by Federal and State dollars with required County match met primarily with realignment resources. Funds are budgeted for FY 2008-09 and will be budgeted for FY 2009-10, and FY 2010-11.

Reason for Recommendation: The Department of Human Services (DHS) maintains purchase of services agreements with multiple local vendors for the provision of services for its clients to ensure that clients can be referred by their caseworker on an “as requested” basis to receive necessary services from the most appropriate and conveniently located vendor. Choice of vendor is based on the specific needs of each individual DHS client. Family Connections El Dorado, Inc. provides therapeutic counseling, substance abuse treatment, anger management, parenting classes and other related services to DHS clients.

The initial contract was established at $50,000 in order to expedite processing by the Purchasing Agent, allow the Department sufficient time to further evaluate the total estimated compensation for the three-year term, and to ensure c...
