DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATION
Community Development Services, Department of Transportation (Transportation), recommending the Board adopt and authorize the Chair to sign the Resolution (Resolution) authorizing the Director of Transportation (Director) to execute specified Use Permits in conjunction with County’s Capital Improvement, Environmental Improvement, and Maintenance projects, allowing for the program implementation process to function more efficiently.

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
Transportation intends to continue to pursue and obtain project opportunities that will require use permits with various state and federal agencies. These agencies include the United States Department of Agriculture Forest Service, the State of California Department of Transportation, the City of Placerville, the City of South Lake Tahoe, the State of California Department of Parks and Recreation, the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, and the California Tahoe Conservancy.

On June 11, 2013 (Item 16), the Board adopted Resolution 071-2013 authorizing the Transportation Division Director to submit applications, sign applications, and obtain and/or execute Use Permits, Encroachment Permits, Right of Entry Permits, and License Agreements to construct Capital Improvement Projects, Environmental Improvement Projects, and Maintenance Projects to allow the program implementation process to function more efficiently.
