District Attorney recommending the Board approve and authorize the Purchasing Agent to execute Agreement for Services 3220 (retroactive to May 1, 2018) with Capitol Tech Solutions for the provision of website hosting and support in the not-to-exceed amount of $10,800 for the period of May 1, 2018 through April 30, 2021.

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
In 2017, the District Attorney’s Office entered into a contract with Capital Tech Solutions to provide the development of, website hosting, and support for four custom websites - Agreement for Services No. 456-S1710. The four websites created consist of eldoradoda.com, eldoradosmostwanted.com, eldoradoarrestlog.com, and eldoradocoldcase.com. The purpose for the development of these four websites was to provide more efficient and better access of important information to the public.

Over the last few years we have experimented with public engagement using social media through a blog, video production, and outreach programs. Our Most Wanted Wednesday posts for example are highly successful. Given the success of these programs, we developed a comprehensive public engagement strategy.

After meeting with Capital Tech Solutions and discussing the various methods and options to get information out to the public, it was determined that this consulting group could provide the necessary specialized services needed to guide us in promoting more effective communication with the public using their public relations experience, similar to the Sheriff’s Office.
