Body
The El Dorado County Elections Department provides elections services to all County residents for Federal, State, County, City, School and Special District elections. The Department is responsible for assuring compliance with laws related to the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) and voter outreach programs. Also, the Registrar must comply with the Help America Vote Act (HAVA) and comply and work with the Secretary of State to ensure compliance with voting machines and procedures.

The Elections Department is also responsible for the processing of initiative, referenda, recall and candidate nomination petitions; precinct and district boundary maintenance and locating polling places that are accessible to all voters.

The community volunteers who serve as Election Precinct Officers during each primary and general election support the work of the Registrar of Voters and the dedicated staff of the El Dorado County Elections Department that ensures the successful compliance with federal and state law, and in support of the efforts that ensure that election services are available to all El Dorado County residents.

Every election, El Dorado County Election Officers make sure polling place operations run smoothly and that elections are carried out fairly, honestly and accurately. Election Officers are responsible for supervising the conduct inside polling places and helping voters.
