DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
The mission of Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is to assist the U. S. Marine Corps in providing a tangible sign of hope to economically disadvantaged children at Christmas. The program collects new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distributes those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted. Last year, the Foundation distributed 14,557 toys to 1,326 children locally.

The County was recently contacted by representatives of the Foundation seeking assistance in identifying a location for the toy storage due to the fact that the facility they had been using in prior years became unexpectedly unavailable to them.

299 Fair Lane (the now dormant Juvenile Hall) was identified as a viable solution for their program. That location was vacated in June of 2019 and is currently utilized for storage of surplus office items. The location would offer ample space and public access for the Foundation. The term of the agreement would span October 19, 2019 through December 31, 2019 and distribution to the public would occur on December 14 and 15. This is a no cost Facility Usage Agreement.
