Body
DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
The South Lake Tahoe Johnson Center, Placerville Library and Administration Buildings A & B all have roofing systems that have exceeded their useful life. The Facilities Division has made several short term repairs over the years to maximize the longevity. At this juncture, it has become more cost effective to install overlays on the roofs entirely to prevent any further damage within the facilities from leakage.

The Division plans to install roofing systems of similar construction with an extremely durable synthetic roofing membrane that potentially adds another 20 years of life, or more. A replacement of the roofs will reduce service calls and the risk of extensive damage should a serious leak occur. The Division requests the Board adopt the bid, specifications, and contract documents for the roof overlays; approve and authorize the Chair to sign the construction bid documents; and authorize advertisement for construction bids (Bids: Johnson Center No. 20-968-053; Placerville Main Library and Administration Buildings A & B No. 20-968-023).

Upon approval by the Board, the Facilities Division and Procurement and Contracts will finalize the bid schedules, advertise for bids, and return to the Board with recommendations for award at the conclusion of the bid process.
