DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
The Cameron Park CSD Fire Department is proposing to construct a four-story fire training facility and tower for the purposes of training exercises for both the Cameron Park Fire Department and other outside agencies to advance training in areas such as large area search and rescue, fire control training, multistory and commercial structure firefighting tactics, firefighter survival and escape tactics, and high angle rescue training. The proposed tower will be located at Fire Station 89 on the eastern portion of the parcel located at 3200 County Club Drive, in Cameron Park.

Total estimated fees for the proposed project are $3,871.88 (Attachment B). Policy B-2, Fee Waivers, does not apply to the State mandated fees (SIMP and Green fees), which are estimated to total $73.67. Additional fees not recommended to be waived include the County’s Technology Fee and the General Plan Implementation Fee, which are estimated to total $141.66. These fees are not recommended to be waived because they are nominal on a project level, and their accumulated collection from all projects is essential to broader County operations.
