Title: Chief Administrative Office, Facilities Division, recommending the Board consider the following: 1) Approve and authorize the Purchasing Agent to sign Facility Use Agreement (FUA) 5708 with Inspireworks LLC for the use of the Juvenile Hall located at 299 Fair Lane, Placerville and the Placerville Main Library located at 345 Fair Lane for the filming of motion picture scenes; 3) Authorize the Purchasing Agent, to execute further documents relating to FUA 5708 including amendments thereto, which do not increase the term of the Agreement, contingent upon approval by County Counsel and Risk Management approval; and 3) Make a determination that use of the County’s property as described above provides a public benefit. DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
Mr. Bob Leone, the author of the book titled ‘They Don’t Cast Shadows” has chosen to film the screen version of his book in the County of El Dorado.

Mr. Leone’s movie production company, Inspireworks LLC, will be filming at the Placerville Main Library, Placerville Juvenile Hall, and various locations in Cool and Shingle Springs. They have estimated the total filming time will last five weeks in the County with the Placerville Library and Juvenile Hall filming each requiring one day. Inspireworks will cover all County staff time and utilities involved with the motion picture filming.

Inspireworks use of County facilities provides a Public Benefit to businesses considering the amount of money that will be spent by Inspireworks staff covering meals, lodging, etc. over this five week period in the County.

ALTERNATIVES
The Board could decline use of the library and dormant juvenile hall.
