Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: No Change. The Agreement is funded by the Social Services allocation with required County match met primarily with realignment resources. Funds were budgeted for FY 2007-08, FY 2008-09 and FY 2009-10.

Reason for Recommendation: The Department of Human Services (DHS) maintains agreements with multiple local vendors for the provision of services for its clients to ensure that clients can be referred by their caseworker on an “as requested” basis or as ordered by the Court to receive necessary services from the most appropriate and conveniently located vendor. Choice of vendor is based on the specific needs of each individual DHS client. Scripps Psychological Associates, Inc. provides court-ordered psychological testing services to DHS clients. Psychological testing offers a formal way to measure and report on traits, feelings, beliefs and abilities that can lead to problems within families and has proven to be a helpful tool in child custody and visitation cases in determining the health, safety, welfare and best interests of children with regard to the custody and visitation issues specified by the Court.
