Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:   There is no change to Net County Cost.
 
Background:  The County of El Dorado has observed the national Emergency Medical Services (EMS) week annually with a proclamation from the Board of Supervisors and activities to increase public awareness about the County's commitment to offering quality emergency medical services.  
 
This year, May 16-22 has been proclaimed the national Emergency Medical Services week.  The Health Services Department, EMS Agency, is requesting the Board of Supervisors proclaim that week as "Emergency Medical Services Week" in the County of El Dorado.  The intent is to raise the public's awareness of, and provide education on, the high level of emergency medical services provided throughout the County, in coordination with EMS systems in California.
 
Reason for Recommendation:  To increase public awareness of the County's commitment to quality emergency medical services offered in our community.
 
Action to be taken following Board approval:
- Chair to sign two (2) proclamations regarding Emergency Medical Services Week.
- Board Clerk's Office to return one proclamation to Department.
- Department to distribute accordingly.
