Background:
County of El Dorado has two established Juvenile Detention Facilities, Juvenile Hall in Placerville and Juvenile Treatment Center in South Lake Tahoe, for the temporary or long-term commitment of minors detained in accordance with the provisions of the California Welfare and Institiutions Code.

Reason for Recommendation:
Pursuant to Board of Supervisors Policy C-1, Contracts with Other Counties, and Policy C-17, Procurement Policy, Section 4.5, Contract Term, "Departments must obtain authorization from the Board of Supervisors, initially, and on an annual basis, to utilize any contract that does not have a stated contract term."
