Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: None. Federal one-time grant funding has been included in the Department's FY2010-11 budget for these purchases. The funding must be expended by September 30, 2010. Funding was originally authorized in late FY 2009-10 however there was insufficient time to process a bid and receive the purchases before June 30, 2010 so the funding has been carried forward to FY 2010-11.

Background:
On September 23, 2008, the Board adopted Resolution 259-2008 authorizing execution of Contract 08-85437 with the California Department of Public Health in the amount of $2,626,000 for operation of the Supplemental Food program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) during the three-year term October 1, 2008 through September 30, 2011. On March 9, 2010, the Board adopted Resolution 025-2010 authorizing execution of Amendment 1 to Contract 08-85437, reflecting an increase of $417,000, including One-Time funding for improving access to WIC services that must be expended by September 30, 2010.
