Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: Funding for this agreement has been included in the Sheriff's Office Fiscal Year 2011-12 budget. As a result, there is no change to Net County Cost.

Background: In accordance with Title 15, Section 1061 of the California Administrative Code, the Sheriff's Office contracts with the El Dorado Union High School District to provide personnel and services which are necessary to support a jail inmate education program. Specifically, this program is to provide for the voluntary academic and/or vocational education of both sentenced and non-sentenced inmates. On May 4, 2010, your Board approved a contract between the Sheriff's Office and the El Dorado Union High School District to provide these services through June 30, 2011.

Reason for Recommendation: Approval of this agreement will allow El Dorado Union High School District during Fiscal Year 2011-12 to continue providing these mandated services on behalf of the Sheriff's Office.
