Title: Department of Transportation recommending the Board consider the following regarding the Durock Road/Business Drive Intersection Signalization Project, CIP No. 73354: 1) Authorize the Chair to sign the Traffic Signal Appurtenances Easement and the Certificate of Acceptance from Robert J. Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:
Acquisition costs are $1.00 with title and escrow fees estimated at $1,500 for a total estimated cost of $1,501. Funding for the acquisition process will be provided by the 2004 General Plan Traffic Impact Mitigation Fee Program.

Background:
The Durock Road/Business Drive Intersection Signalization Project (Project) required various slope, traffic signal appurtenances and temporary construction easements in order to construct the roadway and intersection signalization improvements.

On April 29, 2008 the Board authorized the Department of Transportation (Department) to proceed with negotiations to acquire land rights affecting portions of the subject parcel. Negotiations with Robert and Wendy Deitz concluded and a settlement was reached that was representative of the appraised value of the necessary land rights. Since that time, there were a number of design changes necessitated by further plan reviews and the need to construct the Project in the most economical manner possible.
