Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: Funding is included in the fiscal year 2011/2012 Road Fund budget and will be budgeted for in the 2012/2013 fiscal year budget. There is no change to Net County Cost.

Background: On June 22, 2010, the Board authorized the Chair to execute Agreement for Services #425-S1011, AGMT 10-52947, with Blain Stumpf Trucking to transport road materials from various points of purchase to designated stockpile locations or work sites, on an on-call basis for the Department of Transportation (Department).

The maximum utilization of County equipment and personnel is held as a first priority. The service provided under the agreement is beyond the maximized capabilities of department staff and equipment resources. The nature of work is also sporadic and not sufficient to warrant the purchase of equipment or the addition of permanent staff. Services are primarily required during the peak construction season when the demand is such that multiple trucks are requested at one time.
