Chief Administrative Office, Parks Division, recommending the Board:
1) Receive an update on current Parks projects and future opportunities;
2) Receive and file the Sports Complex Fiscal Analysis; and
3) Provide direction, approve and authorize the Chair to sign resolutions for grant applications for the California Department of Parks and Recreation Prop 68 Grant Program, Regional Parks Program and Rural and Recreational Tourism Grant opportunities.
FUNDING: State Parks Funding, Quimby Act Fees, and General Fund.

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
The attached staff report provides an update to the Board on Parks activities, including current projects, potential projects, and funding opportunities (Attachment A). Staff is seeking direction from the Board prior to applying for State Parks grants for improvements at Forebay Community Park, a campground at Chili Bar Park, property acquisition and development of a sports complex, and acquisition of a property for river access (Thomas property). A Fiscal Analysis Report for the development of a sports complex is also attached in order to inform the Board of this opportunity prior to submitting an application for grant funding (Attachment C).
Staff is requesting the board provide direction on which projects they would like submitted for the grant opportunities. Staff is requesting the board approve and sign the associated resolution for the projects approved. This will enable staff to move forward and not return to the board with the required resolutions.
ALTERNATIVES
The Board may provide direction to apply for funding or utilize existing funding for any Parks projects, or may choose to direct staff to take no action regarding parks and funding opportunities.

There is no direct financial impact associated with this item. Should the Board provide direction to pursue the parks opportunities listed above, with or without grant funding, staff will return to the Board with subsequent items detailing the financial impact of park planning, development, and maintenance.
