The Air Squadron consists of 16 members and has at its disposal 12 aircraft.

El Dorado County Sheriff's Explorer Post 457

The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office Explorers Program is part of Learning for Life's career education program for young men and women who are 15 (may be 14 if they have completed the eighth grade) through 21 years old.

The Explorer’s purpose is to provide experiences that help young people develop and mature so that they, in turn, become responsible and caring adults. Explorers are ready to investigate the meaning of interdependence in both their personal and professional relationships and within their community.

The result of the Sheriff’s Office Explorer program is helpful youths pursuing and furthering their special interests in Law Enforcement. The El Dorado County Sheriff Explorers provide a variety of law enforcement support functions including traffic control assistance, parking and crowd control, crime prevention and public information, and other public service activities to make our community better and safer. Explorers also receive many hours of law enforcement training by El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office personnel.
