Title: Sheriff’s Office recommending the Board approve and authorize the Chair to sign Amendment IV to Facility Use Agreement No. 355-09911 with Verizon Wireless to modify certain additional equipment on the Property, to replace Section 4 to update the County’s Notices, and to replace Section 16 to change the Administrator. Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost
Funding is from Verizon Wireless. There is no Change to Net County Cost. This is a revenue generating agreement for the Sheriff’s Office.

Background: On September 28, 2004, the Board approved Amendment I to the existing Facility Use Agreement with, at that time, Mountain Cellular, to extend the term for five additional years.

On December 12, 2006, the Board approved Amendment II to the existing Facility Use Agreement #355-09911 with Verizon Wireless to install a new monopole and equipment shelter. Verizon will operate on a rent-free basis for ten years, from January 1, 2007 to December 31, 2017. Thereafter, Verizon will make rental payments of $450.00 per month for the remainder of the term of the Facility Use Agreement which ends on December 31, 2021.

On December 2, 2013 the Board approved Amendment III to the existing Facility Use Agreement #355-09911 with Verizon Wireless to expand the leased portion to include the installation of a generator to continue to provide communication services to the public. The costs of installing and maintaining the equipment would continue to be the responsibility of Verizon.

This Amendment IV is to further modify the initial Facility Use Agreement to remove and replace three existing Verizon Wireless antennas, install two new Verizon Wireless Raycap surge protections, install three new Verizon Wireless RRH units, replace twelve existing runs of 7/8” coaxial cables with new 1-5/8” coaxial cables, install one new Verizon Wireless 1-5/8” hyb...
