DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
On April 10, 2012 (Item 19), as part of the U.S. Highway 50 HOV Lane, Phase 0 Project 53124 (Project), the Board authorized the Chair to sign Cooperative Agreement, District Agreement No. 03-0501 (Agreement), between the County of El Dorado (County) and the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans). The Agreement (dated April 18, 2012) provided for the County to obtain the necessary right-of-way for the installation of the new HOV lane, interchange ramps, and overcrossing and ultimately transfer the right-of-way from the County to Caltrans. Project construction was completed in 2016 and the County has verified that the parcels are clear of any encumbrances and can be transferred to Caltrans.
ALTERNATIVES
The County is obligated to transfer the right-of-way to Caltrans per the Agreement.

FINANCIAL IMPACT

CLERK OF THE BOARD FOLLOW UP ACTIONS
1) The Clerk of the Board will obtain the Chair's signature on one (1) original Grant Deed.
2) The Clerk of the Board will return the partially executed original Grant Deed to the Department of Transportation (Transportation), Tanna Reynoso, Associate Right-of-Way Agent, for transmittal to Caltrans.
TRANSPORTATION NEXT STEPS
Upon receipt from Caltrans, Transportation will forward a copy of the fully executed Grant Deed to the Clerk of the Board for its records.
