DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATION
Community Development Services, Department of Transportation, recommending the Board receive and file an update on the emergency road projects in the Tahoe Basin and Western Slope of El Dorado County.
DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
Beginning on January 3, 2017, the region experienced four major storm systems that caused more than $24 million in damage to El Dorado County roadway infrastructure. On February 27, 2017, the Sheriff’s Office, CDA, and CAO provided the Board of Supervisors with an overview of the damage, current cost estimates and repair timelines based on information available at the time. The Board asked staff to continue to update the Board when additional information, including potential reimbursement amounts or project changes, becomes available.
