Background
In October of 2009 the County entered into a lease agreement with James Cole Beverly and Clayton Stephen Allison, doing business as PLA for the operation of a skateboard shop located at Joe's Skate Park located at 200 Armory Drive in Placerville (Legistar File 09-0960).  The original lease was for a one (1) year term with two (2) one (1) year options to extend.  At the end of the expiration of the lease, the owners of PLA moved to a month-to-month lease arrangement.  The owners of PLA made a business decision to no longer operate the skateboard shop.  The County executed a new lease agreement with Kelley Rogers, doing business as Hangtown Skate Shop on July 2, 2012 to keep the supervision and operations of the skate park intact.  The lease allowed for a one (1) year term with options to extend for two (2) additional one (1) year terms

Reason for Recommendation
On March 11, 2013, Kelley Rogers, doing business as Hangtown Skate Shop notified the County of his intent to extend Lease 617-L1211 for an additional one (1) year term at a yearly lease cost not to exceed $1,170.00.  The Board is now being asked to approve and execute a first amendment to Lease 617-L1211 with Hangtown Skate Shop for an additional one (1) year term.

Action(s) to be taken following Board Approval
1) Chair to sign Amendment I to Lease 617-L1211.
2) Board Clerk to forward one original Lease to the CAO, Parks Division for processing.
