DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATION
The Sheriff's Office is recommending extending the perpetual contract for an additional year and to increase BP20140801 to cover an increase in the monthly cost and upgrade fees due to increases in internet speed.

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
The Sheriff’s Support Services Office on Broadway in Placerville has been using Comcast for their services since February of 2014 due to experiencing problems with their Internet connection speed since it was originally being routed through the Sheriff’s Main Office. In January of 2017, the Sheriff’s Office’s staff made the decision to increase the internet speed on the account which increased the monthly cost to $301.80 per month plus taxes and fees from $184.80 a month plus taxes and fees.
