DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATION
The Clerk of the Board, in conjunction with Community Development Services - Administration, recommends approval of the Resolution to form a County Airport Advisory Committee in support of Strategic Plan Good Governance Objective 2.3 for 2018, which directs staff to Develop and implement best practices relative to the administration and function of Board appointed Commissions and Committees. It is important to note the members of these respective committees are unanimously in support of establishing a single committee to advise the Board.

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
On September 28, 1999 the Board of Supervisors established the Placerville Airport Advisory Committee and the Georgetown Airport Advisory Committee by adopting Board Policy I-4 Placerville Airport Advisory Committee and Georgetown Airport Advisory Committee. Over the years, the Georgetown Airport Advisory Committee has experienced recurring challenges in reaching a quorum of members to conduct official meetings pursuant to the Ralph M. Brown Act.

On February 21, 2018 the two current appointees to the Georgetown Airport Advisory Committee were in attendance at a special meeting of the Placerville Airport Advisory Committee to discuss the feasibility of combining the two committees. With the support of the two current Georgetown Airport Advisory Committee members, the Placerville Airport Advisory Committee voted unanimously in favor to request county staff prepare a draft Resolution for said members to review and provide input prior to Board consideration.
