DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
This represents the fourth annual report of real property acquisitions pursuant to Ordinance 5094. For this annual reporting period of July 1, 2021, through June 30, 2022, only real property acquisitions for approved Capital Improvement Program (CIP) projects have been executed.

During this period, the Department of Transportation (Transportation) Right of Way Unit acquired seven (7) individual acquisitions for a total cost of $64,100, ranging from $1,000 to $22,700 per acquisition. Refer to Attachment A for the current annual report, which provides an itemization of each acquisition’s associated CIP project, funding, parcel or easement cost, and purpose.

PRIOR BOARD ACTION
On April 5, 2016 (Item 23, Legistar 15-0931 v3), the Board approved Ordinance 5037, which delegated to the Community Development Agency (CDA) Director the authority to acquire any interest in or easement upon real property of $25,000 or less in value as part of the approved CIP. On April 18, 2017 (Item 6, Legistar 17-202 v3), the Board approved Ordinance 5051, thereby reorganizing the CDA and delegating signature authority to the Chief Administrative Officer, or designee.
