DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
On May 10, May 22 and May 23, 2023, the Board held a series of workshops to begin drafting a new Strategic Plan for El Dorado County. The workshops were facilitated by Robert Bendorf from the Municipal Resource Group (MRG) and attended by the Board and the majority of County department heads. The workshops resulted in draft vision and mission statements as well as focus areas and objectives. The next step in this process is to create an Ad Hoc working group that will take the work done in the workshops and further distill the drafts into a cohesive document that can be presented to the Board and the public for additional input and refinement.
The Consultant with MRG has been working with the Board Chair and Vice-Chair throughout the process and recommends they be appointed to the Ad-Hoc working group.
ALTERNATIVES
The Board could choose not to move forward with an Ad Hoc working group and ask staff to return with other ideas for moving the draft strategic plan forward.
