DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

The El Dorado County Probation Department (Probation) and the Community Correction Partnership’s Community Corrections Center (CCC) have been leasing office space located at 3974 Durock Road in Shingle Springs, from El Dorado Foothills, LLC, since February of 2008. The West Slope Probation office provides juvenile/adult probation services and administrative functions; and the CCC is a multi-agency adult intake, assessment, treatment, education, and alternative supervision center.

 

12,096 square feet of the 16,220 square foot Durock Road office space is occupied by Probation and 4,124 square feet is occupied by the CCC. The initial rate for Lease Agreement 8373 is $1.60 per square foot per month ($25,952), or $311,424 for the first year of the Lease. A 3% rate increase will be imposed each year of the lease.

 

ALTERNATIVES

The Board could choose not to approve the Lease Agreement. Probation and the Community Correction Center would need to be relocated to another approved location prior to April 1, 2024.

FINANCIAL IMPACT

The Probation Department has allocated funds in their FY2023-24 budget for this Lease Agreement. Community Corrections Partnership has approved FY2023-24 budget to include the agreed upon portion of the Lease Agreement costs. Funds will be budgeted in subsequent years through the duration of the Lease Agreement.
