DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATION
Community Development Agency, Development Services Division, recommending the Board approve Resolution No. 011-2016 authorizing the acquisition of a portion of Assessor's Parcel Number 070-011-48 (Cameron Meadows Phase 2), totaling 22.165 acres in the Cameron Park area, for rare plant conservation.
DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
On July 21, 2015 (Item No. 21), the Board approved the release of $166,525 of Ecological Preserve Special Revenue Fund monies for the acquisition of 22.165 acres of rare plant lands for conservation purposes. On December 7, 2015 (Item No. 1), the Board authorized the Chair of the Board to sign a Certificate of Acceptance to acquire the land, authorized the County Surveyor to create the 22.165 acre parcel, and ratified the Development Services Director’s signature on the Subgrant Agreement for Acquisition of Fee Interest (Agreement) and the Notice of Unrecorded Subgrant Agreement, and allowed the Director to sign closing escrow documents.
The California Wildlife Conservation Board (WCB), who will approve the release of federal funds to assist with the purchase of this land, requires a Resolution from the County Board of Supervisors to approve the Agreement. This Resolution will allow the WCB to release the funds into escrow for the County’s purchase of the 22.165 acres of rare plant conservation land.
